Public Cloud Project Manager - Canonical

About the Role

Canonical is seeking a Public Cloud Project Manager to provide account leadership and insight for our key Tier 1 Enterprise Public Cloud accounts. This role is a unique opportunity for a technologist with a passion for Linux and project management to build a career at the forefront of open source.

In this position, you will manage multiple blue-chip company projects simultaneously, shaping Statements of Work (SoW) and managing the full project lifecycle to ensure goals are met for both Canonical and the client.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Delivery: Ensure projects are delivered within schedule, scope, budget, and resource expectations.
• Risk Management: Identify technical and project risks, implementing active mitigation strategies.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong customer focus, conduct regular status meetings, and provide business reviews.
• Technical Advocacy: Advocate for appropriate technologies from Canonical's portfolio to customers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage critical third-party deliverables and identify cross-organization engineering requests.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven background in the IT Cloud industry as a project/program manager, agile manager, or scrum master.
• Deep understanding of Linux, open source, and the public cloud ecosystem.
• Software engineering experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience leading cross-cultural, remote, and global project teams.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
• PMP (or equivalent) and Agile/Scrum Master certifications.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally for team sprints and client meetings.
