Python Software Engineer, Commercial Systems - Canonical

About the Role

Canonical is looking for a Python Software Engineer to join the Integrations team within our Commercial Systems unit. You will be responsible for automating SAAS user management, tracking application portfolio spend, and integrating data sources into our data mesh using open-source ETL solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality engineering solutions using Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical designs and code reviews.
• Deploy and operate services developed by the team.
• Mentor colleagues and provide career development feedback (based on seniority).
• Evangelize best engineering and organizational practices.

Requirements

• Exceptional academic track record (high school and university).
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative path.
• Proven track record of going above-and-beyond to achieve results.
• Strong software development experience in Python.
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
• Result-oriented mindset with a drive to meet commitments.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Performance engineering and security experience.
• Experience with Airbyte, Ranger, Temporal, or Trino.
