
About the Role
Canonical is seeking a Senior Jira Administrator to manage our Atlassian Jira Cloud environment. You will be part of the Commercial Systems team, responsible for the administration, configuration, automation, and integration of our business systems. Your work will directly enable our engineering and business teams to make data-driven decisions and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Atlassian Jira Cloud at Canonical.
- Design, document, and implement processes and automation within Jira.
- Build and maintain integrations between Jira and our data warehouse.
- Create analytical dashboards to support stakeholder decision-making.
- Develop scalable learning resources for internal teams.
- Collaborate with global engineering, operations, and support teams.
- Take ownership of critical system escalations and ensure timely resolution.
What We Are Looking For
- Exceptional academic track record (high school and university).
- Proven experience as a Jira Administrator within the Atlassian ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Jira usage patterns for technical and non-technical departments.
- Proficiency in Python for software development and automation.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote, distributed environment.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events (up to two weeks).
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with process architecture.
