About the Role

Canonical is seeking a Solutions Architect for Automotive to help global industry leaders—including Mercedes, Ford, GM, and Nvidia—embrace our open-source platform. You will act as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between our field engineering expertise and the complex requirements of the automotive sector.

What You Will Do

  • Customer Engagement: Lead presales discussions to gather requirements and articulate the value of our technology.
  • Technical Collaboration: Liaise with internal experts in Cloud, Kubernetes, Security, and Safety to build comprehensive solutions.
  • Project Delivery: Participate in the delivery of Embedded Linux projects, including demonstrations and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
  • Market Advocacy: Convey market requirements to internal stakeholders to help refine and develop generic solutions that unlock new market potential.
  • Trusted Advisor: Serve as a customer advocate while maintaining the highest standards of technical integrity.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Linux Expertise: Extensive experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • Embedded Skills: Solid background in embedded Linux (Yocto or RTOS).
  • Programming: Fluency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation skills with professional fluency in English.
  • Industry Knowledge: Relevant experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Mindset: A result-oriented, humble learner who is comfortable with customer-facing engagements.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with ISO26262 and/or ISO21434.
  • Prior experience in professional customer-facing engagements.
