Director, Global Design & Construction - Cloudflare

About the Role

We are looking for an innovative, tech-forward Director of Global Design & Construction to lead our physical environment strategy. This role combines high-level strategic vision with a passion for experimentation and world-class physical execution.

You will lead the end-to-end design and construction of workspaces that serve as the physical manifestation of Cloudflare’s culture, while integrating an AI-first, data-driven approach to project delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Physical Execution: Lead the design and construction of global offices, directing architects, contractors, and artists to create inspiring, functional spaces.
• AI Workflow Integration: Architect AI and automation solutions to revolutionize design and construction phases, including vendor onboarding, cost estimation, and risk identification.
• Spatial Experimentation: Treat workplaces as living laboratories by implementing data-collection methods to evolve our global footprint based on real-time utilization and feedback.
• Financial Governance: Own the global CapEx budget, including multi-year forecasting, financial reporting, and risk mitigation.
• Executive Leadership: Serve as the primary liaison between executive business customers and external delivery partners, ensuring alignment across IT, Legal, and Workplace teams.
• Global Pipeline Governance: Oversee a global project pipeline, ensuring compliance with local laws and sustainable building standards.

Requirements

• Experience: 10-12+ years in interior design and complex construction project management within high-growth tech or global enterprises.
• Scale: Proven track record directing a global corporate portfolio exceeding 250,000+ square feet.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of MEP systems, architectural principles, and AV/IT infrastructure.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Project Management, Interior Design, or Engineering.
• Presence: Ability to work in-office ~3 days a week and travel globally as needed.

• Certifications: LEED, WELL, or PMP.
• Experience with AI-enhanced workflows, generative design, or AI-assisted operational models.
