GRC Engineer - Cloudflare

About the Role

Security is at the heart of Cloudflare’s mission. As a GRC Engineer, you will work cross-functionally to implement controls, manage risk, and demonstrate our security posture to auditors and customers. You will move away from traditional "gatekeeping" toward a paved-road security model where compliance is the default state.

What You'll Do

• Automation & Engineering: Develop automated solutions to improve GRC operations, integrating with existing security, engineering, and AI tools.
• AI Governance: Architect and maintain a technical governance framework for the safe deployment of autonomous AI agents, ensuring workflows operate within deterministic "action gates."
• Audit & Infrastructure: Support security assessments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, FedRAMP) by treating "Audit Readiness" as a product, utilizing automated drift detection and self-healing configurations.
• Security Integration: Collaborate with Legal, People, Engineering, and Finance to integrate security into the fabric of the company.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience: 5+ years in security, compliance, automation, or engineering.
• The Builder Mindset: You prefer writing scripts to solve problems permanently over manual processes.
• AI Mastery: Experience designing or implementing AI-powered automation and agentic workflows; understanding of non-deterministic system risks.
• Compliance-as-Code: Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and Policy as Code (OPA/Rego).
• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, Go, or other scripting languages. Experience building modern web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

Bonus Points

• Demonstrated passion for security via personal projects or open-source contributions.
• Experience building on the Cloudflare developer platform (Workers, R2, D1, or Workers AI).
