
About the Role
At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. We are looking for a Network Deployment Engineer to join our team in the APJC region. You will be responsible for the build-out and expansion of our global network, working closely with Infrastructure, SRE, and Network Engineering teams to execute deployments and implement consistent infrastructure processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deployment & Maintenance: Provision, monitor, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure in new and existing data centers.
- Remote Administration: Perform server administration via IPMI/BMC tools and execute network configuration tasks for greenfield and brownfield deployments.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with remote contractors, hardware manufacturers, and ISPs to manage rack-and-stack installations and upgrades across 700+ locations.
- Automation: Develop Python scripts and agentic AI tools to reduce administrative overhead and eliminate repetitive tasks.
- Infrastructure Planning: Plan facility power (AC/DC), cooling, security, and cable management.
- Leadership: Provide technical guidance to contractors and junior team members, ensuring quality checks and adherence to SOPs.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Center Operations, SRE, Linux Systems Administration, or Network Engineering.
- Proficiency in optical transport technologies (CWDM/DWDM).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience with remote "lights-out" data center management.
- Proven ability to solve problems through automation (Python/Bash).
- Experience building or working with agentic AI tools for workflow automation.
Desirable Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Understanding of BGP and anycast routing.
- Proficiency with major networking OS (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, SONiC, etc.).
- Experience with DCIM tools and project management software (JIRA).
- Professional certifications (JNCIP, CCNP, Linux certifications) are a plus.
