Principal Engineer - GTM Data Platform

About the Role

Cloudflare is seeking a Principal Engineer to own our GTM-facing software and data products. You will lead the data foundation, signal processing, and cross-functional projects that power our sales and marketing motions. This role sits within our centralized Developer GTM organization, acting as a "speedboat" to iterate quickly and build long-term developer relationships.

What You'll Do

• Own the Stack: Manage GTM-facing software and data products end-to-end, including the data foundation and account-based signaling.
• Drive Strategy: Lead complex, cross-functional projects spanning multiple teams and systems.
• Build & Iterate: Improve pipeline visualization, build sales tools, and optimize the developer buying journey using a mix of data engineering, full-stack development, and applied AI.
• Collaborate: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, DevRel, and Growth teams to turn operational pain points into scalable software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features using Golang, TypeScript, and SQL.
• Build and operate production services on Cloudflare Workers and Kubernetes.
• Manage the data foundation, including Query Engine, Workflows, and internal APIs.
• Own projects from design docs and schema changes through to deployment and monitoring.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive incident resolution.
• Leverage AI tools extensively to accelerate development and operational tasks.
• Set technical standards for the GTM engineering organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on complex, organization-wide data initiatives.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and production infrastructure at scale.
• Proficiency in Go and strong working knowledge of TypeScript.
• Exceptional ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects autonomously.
• Advanced analytical SQL and data modeling skills; experience managing high-complexity schemas.
• Ability to debug database and query performance issues using profiling tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience as a Principal or Staff+ engineer on platform or infrastructure teams.
• Familiarity with OLAP/Columnar databases (ClickHouse, DuckDB, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.).
• Experience with Salesforce data models and CRM integrations.
• Background in SaaS or Product-Led Growth (PLG) motions.
• Experience with Cloudflare Workers or edge computing platforms.
