Principal Solutions Architect, APJC (Developer Platform) - Mandarin Speaking

About the Role

As Principal Solutions Architect for the Developer Platform, you will own the regional technical strategy for Cloudflare’s most important customer and partner engagements. You will work with engineering leaders, architects, and executives to define architectures, validate technical approaches, and move production workloads onto Cloudflare.

This is a senior individual-contributor role combining hands-on architecture, executive influence, regional technical leadership, and mentorship. You will report to the Director of Developer GTM, APJC.

What You’ll Do

• Technical Strategy: Own the technical strategy for strategic Developer Platform customers and partners.
• Architecture: Translate business, application, and security requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable architectures.
• Leadership: Lead discovery, technical workshops, proofs of concept, and design reviews.
• Advisory: Advise engineering executives on application modernization, distributed systems, AI architecture, and platform strategy.
• Enablement: Establish reference architectures and governance patterns; mentor solutions architects and technical colleagues.
• Hands-on: Build, review, and troubleshoot representative applications and integrations.
• Feedback Loops: Partner with product and engineering teams to translate regional customer needs into actionable product recommendations.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 15+ years in solutions architecture, software engineering, or technical consulting.
• Language: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required to lead technical and executive discussions.
• Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of distributed application architecture (compute, storage, networking, security, observability).
• Development Skills: Hands-on experience with modern web technologies and at least one programming ecosystem (preferably JavaScript or TypeScript).
• Cloud Expertise: Strong understanding of serverless/cloud-native architectures and at least one major public cloud platform.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to influence without direct authority and communicate effectively across technical and executive audiences.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily within APJC, including mainland China.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience building on Cloudflare’s Developer Platform.
• Experience designing AI inference, agentic, or RAG applications.
• Experience working with technology partners or developer communities in Greater China.
• Public speaking, technical writing, or open-source contribution history.
