About Crux
We’re financing the future of energy
Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.
Our team of 120+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from top-tier investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.
An Inflection Point in American Energy and Manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components — as well as large amounts of capital.
Traditional project financing is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Legal Partnerships Lead to build and deepen Crux’s partnerships with the law firms at the center of the clean economy — among our most important and strategic partner relationships.
Partnerships is one of Crux’s most important growth engines. Law firms are trusted advisors to developers, sponsors, and investors. This role is about being a true strategic partner to these firms: deepening relationships with the attorneys and teams who advise the largest clean energy transactions in the country, building compelling joint programs, and bringing them Crux’s expertise, market and legal intelligence, and reach.
You will own these relationships end-to-end — building trust with partners and firm BD, marketing, and innovation teams, cultivating champions across the firm, designing co-marketing and engagement programs, and working hand-in-hand with our commercial, legal, market intelligence, and marketing teams. This is a high-autonomy individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director of Partnerships.
What You'll Do
- Build and deepen strategic law firm relationships: Serve as Crux’s primary relationship owner for a portfolio of leading AmLaw and Chambers-ranked firms — leading meetings independently, navigating firm BD, marketing, and innovation teams, and navigating conflicts and confidentiality considerations.
- Design and run co-marketing and joint engagement: Partner with firms on joint content, thought leadership, co-hosted briefings, events, client dinners, and conference activations in close collaboration with Crux’s marketing team.
- Bring differentiated intelligence to partners: Work with Market Intelligence and Legal teams to deliver legal and market intelligence, including CLE-eligible briefings, deal term standards, and tailored reports.
- Deepen collaboration through Crux’s platform: Help firms engage with Crux’s platform on transactions and collaborate on industry-standard documentation through working groups.
- Keep our mission front and center: Focus energy on relationships and collaborations that advance Crux’s capital markets business and client access to capital.
- Strengthen the operating system: Maintain sharp partner records, relationship health, and program insights alongside RevOps, utilizing AI tools to refine playbooks.
- Get out in the market: Attend partner briefings, conferences, client events, and roadshows (~25% travel) for in-person connectivity.
What You Bring
- Genuine legal fluency: Ability to engage credibly with AmLaw partners or in-house counsel and understand transactional deal structures and advising models.
- Professional services instincts: Deep understanding of how law firms operate, including BD/marketing/innovation structures, conflicts, and confidentiality considerations.
- Proven relationship building: Track record of building impactful, trusted enterprise or top-tier partner relationships.
- Commercial instinct: View partnerships as a growth engine with a focus on driving clear, measurable commercial outcomes.
- Builder’s mindset with bias to action: ~6–8 years of experience with a history of owning key workstreams, creating or refining playbooks, and using AI tools as leverage.
- Cross-functional tact: Strong collaborative track record across internal and external teams.
- Excitement to grow: Eagerness to ramp quickly on clean energy finance, transferable tax credits, tax equity, and debt.
What We Offer
- Backing & Traction: Backed by $77M in capital, profitable, and growing exponentially with over 120+ closed transactions in the last 2 years.
- Remote-First Model: Work remotely from anywhere in the US or Canada, with optional office access in DC and NYC (opening Q1’26), plus optional co-working setups in major hubs.
- Regular Offsites: Whole-company offsites 3 times per year plus team meetups.
- Health Benefits: 100% covered health premiums for employees (Aetna/Kaiser), 70% subsidized for dependents; 100% dental & vision for employees, 50% for dependents.
- Paid Time Off: 20 days PTO annually plus 10 company holidays.
- Parental Leave: 16 weeks for birthing parents, 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.
- 401(k): Available 401(k) account.
- Compensation: Base salary in the high $100,000s–$200,000s, performance bonuses, company-wide bonus, and stock options.
