The Opportunity

The Senior Principal, Debt is a senior deal leader on Crux's Debt Business Management team. Reporting to the Head of Debt, you will lead a book of debt mandates from IOI through close across Crux's three debt motions: debt origination, debt advisory, and debt attached to tax equity and preferred equity structures.

What you'll do

• Lead Deal Execution: Manage debt mandates from IOI through close, including lender diligence, structuring, negotiation, and documentation.
• Drive Revenue: Own transaction velocity and close rates, contributing directly to the Debt team's P&L targets.
• Credit Oversight: Author credit memos and pricing recommendations; present transactions to the Credit Committee.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior team members, reviewing underwriting, diligence, and financial models.
• Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with Strategic Bank Capital, Strategic Institutional Capital, and Industry Coverage teams to optimize deal flow and execution.
• Product Development: Partner with Structuring, Product, and Engineering to standardize execution processes and define AI-enabled transaction tooling.
• Market Presence: Represent Crux in industry dialogues, webinars, and conferences.

What you bring

• 10-12+ years of experience, with 7+ years in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure debt, or structured lending.
• Proven track record of leading construction, term, back-leverage, or debt capital markets transactions.
• Deep expertise in solar, wind, and storage debt structures and the interplay between tax equity and debt.
• Experience presenting to credit/investment committees.
• Strong negotiation skills and a builder's mindset.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79 and 63 required or willingness to obtain under Crux's sponsorship.
