Principal Product Manager, Telemetry Collection - Observability

About the Role

As a Principal Product Manager for Telemetry Collection, you will lead the strategy and execution for Elastic's edge telemetry collectors and remote management capabilities. You will own the vision for Fleet Server, Elastic Agent, and the Elastic Distribution of OpenTelemetry (EDOT), ensuring our users can manage enterprise-grade telemetry pipelines with ease.

What You Will Be Doing

• Product Strategy: Define the vision, go-to-market strategy, and roadmap for the Elastic Agent framework and telemetry collectors.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Track KPIs focused on agent deployment success, pipeline efficiency, and OTel adoption.
• Agent Architecture: Oversee packaging, testing, and distribution of Elastic Agent and EDOT.
• Remote Management: Drive capabilities for Fleet Server and collector infrastructure to ensure smooth deployment and control at scale.
• Cloud-Native Strategy: Lead the vision for Kubernetes operators and Helm Charts for seamless lifecycle management.
• OpenTelemetry Leadership: Advance OTel as a primary data shipper and guide development across the upstream project.
• Log Infrastructure: Manage Filebeat and lead product initiatives for Logstash performance and supportability.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, UX, and marketing to deliver cohesive management experiences.
• Public Advocacy: Act as a spokesperson for Elastic’s agent framework at industry events.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in Product Management focused on enterprise infrastructure, observability, or agent frameworks.
• Deep technical familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Elastic Agent, Filebeat, and Logstash.
• Proven experience in remote agent management, fleet control planes, or distributed edge systems.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes operators, Helm Charts, and cloud-native orchestration.
• Background in IT Ops, DevOps, SRE, or technical solution architecture.
• Ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear business goals.
• Experience working with open-source communities.
• Strong familiarity with the Elastic Stack.
