Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to accelerate results that matter.
The Role
Elastic Security is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the development and growth of Elastic XDR. This role requires a deep understanding of attack methodologies and defender challenges, placing you at the forefront of both. You will own a core area of the XDR roadmap end-to-end, from initial requirements to shipped and iterated product, while also contributing to the converging exposure and vulnerability capabilities.
You will be a respected product voice, known for the quality of your requirements by engineering leads and credible in front of security customers. You will work on a platform featuring a unified data model and flexible deployment options (cloud, on-premises, air-gapped), collaborating closely with Engineering and the Elastic Security Labs research team. This is an opportunity for a product manager ready to own significant surface area in a dynamic field and grow into broader leadership.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own a core area of the XDR roadmap end-to-end: Drive detection, correlation, incident building, and response capabilities across endpoint, cloud, identity, and network, from requirements through shipped and iterated product.
- Expand and maintain the telemetry and integrations XDR depends on: Incorporate first-party Elastic data plus third-party EDR, cloud, identity, and network sources to enable correlation across diverse environments.
- Contribute to Elastic's exposure and vulnerability management work, including prioritization based on exploitability and reachability (rather than raw CVSS) and remediation workflow.
- Write clear requirements that engineering can act on without follow-up clarification meetings, and translate customer input and threat research from Elastic Security Labs into product features.
- Represent product in customer conversations, including with senior security stakeholders, and integrate learnings back into the roadmap.
- Ensure your capabilities function across Elastic's deployment models (cloud, on-premises, air-gapped) to support regulated and disconnected environments.
- Maintain a well-developed awareness of the competitive landscape and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.
- Create artifacts such as roadmap trackers and decision memos to provide stakeholders visibility without requiring meetings.
What You Bring
- Experience: At least 5 years in security-related technical product management, competitive analysis, or technical marketing, with a minimum of 3 years in a related product development or technical field. Proven track record of owning product areas from requirements through shipped, iterated outcomes.
- Detection and Response Domain Knowledge: Hands-on knowledge of XDR, EDR, SIEM, incident response, or forensics, either as a product manager or as a practitioner (e.g., SOC analyst, detection engineer, incident responder). Ability to credibly discuss correlation, response, and detection engineering. A practitioner background before transitioning into product is a significant plus.
- Telemetry and Integration Breadth: Comfort building or owning products that rely on heterogeneous third-party data, with an awareness that XDR depends on ingestion breadth and healthy integrations.
- Analytics and Threat Understanding: Solid comprehension of the analytics techniques behind detection and prioritization, and of the current cyber threat landscape. Familiarity with AI security, including how AI, ML, and agentic systems are attacked and defended, is a plus. Solid comprehension is required; hands-on modeling is not.
- Technical Credibility: Earn respect from engineering through the quality of your requirements, and possess sufficient architectural knowledge to judge feasibility and scope.
- Customer-Facing Confidence: Comfortable representing product to security customers, including senior stakeholders, and capable of holding both practitioner and leadership views in conversations.
- Communication Excellence: Ability to distill complex detection engineering and exposure concepts into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable with AI-Augmented Work: You use AI tooling for synthesis, research, and delivery as a regular part of your workflow, and you own the final outcomes regardless of how they were produced.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience operating across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success, driving execution in a dynamic, remote-first environment with growing autonomy.
- Proficiency and Education: A robust interest in cybersecurity and its challenges is essential. Attention to detail and the ability to understand the bigger picture are important. A BS or MS degree in engineering, computer science, or information security is required.
