Senior Manager, Endpoint Protections - Elastic

About the Role

Elastic is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Endpoint Protections team. You will oversee the development of visibility, prevention, and on-device machine learning capabilities for Elastic Defend. This role requires a hands-on leader who can guide a globally distributed team while remaining technically proficient enough to review designs and contribute code.

What You Will Be Doing

• Team Leadership: Mentor and grow a world-class engineering team, fostering a culture of candid feedback and collaborative learning.
• Roadmap Ownership: Define investment areas for visibility and protection engines, balancing efficacy, performance, and stability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers to deliver high-quality features and integrate your team's work into the broader Elastic Security platform.
• Machine Learning Strategy: Direct the development of models, training data quality, and telemetry features.
• Platform Parity: Drive protection parity across Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring the team stays ahead of new hardware architectures.
• External Representation: Represent Elastic in the security community through research, conference talks, and customer engagement.

What You Bring

• Leadership Experience: Proven track record managing senior technical individual contributors in a distributed environment.
• Technical Practitioner: Substantial hands-on experience in security research, analyzing TTPs, and shipping software at scale.
• OS Internals Expertise: Deep knowledge of kernel and user mode internals (Windows focus preferred, with macOS/Linux experience).
• Reverse Engineering: Ability to read disassembly, assess research findings, and judge threat investments.
• Adversarial Mindset: Instinct for anticipating evasion techniques and designing resilient protections.
• Communication: Ability to distill complex technical concepts for both executive and technical audiences.
