Role Overview
As a Contract Sourcer at GitLab, you'll help build strong candidate pipelines for our sales team in the AMER region in a fully remote, distributed company. You'll focus on finding and engaging passive talent for sales roles, while partnering closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and business leaders to understand hiring needs and local market dynamics. This is a highly outbound role where your research, outreach, and judgment will directly influence hiring outcomes. You'll also help strengthen sourcing practices by mapping talent markets, building pipelines, and improving how we identify and connect with great candidates in a values-driven environment.
What You'll Do
- Source & Engage: Find and engage passive candidates for sales roles across the AMER region using LinkedIn, online research, events, and other outbound channels.
- Build Diverse Pipelines: Build representative candidate pipelines with a meaningful focus on identifying talent from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
- Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to understand role requirements, business priorities, and ideal candidate profiles.
- Market Intelligence: Map talent markets and gather intelligence on competitors, locations, and candidate pools to inform sourcing strategies.
- Assess Alignment: Evaluate candidate alignment for specific roles, teams, and GitLab's values, and share clear recommendations with recruiting partners.
- Pipeline Management: Screen and qualify candidates, building and maintaining talent benches across multiple countries in the AMER region to ensure strong pipeline depth.
- Candidate Experience: Deliver a strong candidate experience through thoughtful outreach, timely communication, and professional relationship building.
- Continuous Improvement: Optimize sourcing workflows, outreach approaches, and research methods to increase efficiency and quality.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate activity and candidate data in applicant tracking and recruiting systems.
What You'll Bring
- Sourcing Expertise: Relevant experience in recruiting and/or sourcing, including direct experience sourcing passive candidates in a fully outbound environment.
- Sales Recruiting Focus: Experience sourcing for Account Executive and other sales roles, ideally within the software industry.
- Research Skills: Strong research skills and the ability to identify, map, and engage talent across competitive regional and global markets.
- Collaboration: Experience working directly with recruiters and hiring managers to align on hiring needs and adjust sourcing strategies as priorities change.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust across teams, candidates, and time zones.
- Organization: Strong organization skills and comfort managing multiple searches, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Recruiting Tools: Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools. Experience with Greenhouse or LinkedIn Recruiter is ideal.
- Remote Competency: Comfort working remotely in an asynchronous environment, along with willingness to learn and use tools such as GitLab.
