Director of Product Management, Platforms - GitLab

GitLab is looking for a Director of Product, SaaS Platforms to own product direction and business outcomes across our multi-tenant platform (GitLab.com) and single-tenant platform (GitLab Dedicated).

In this director-level individual contributor role, you will connect technical capabilities—like reliability, scalability, and operability—with commercial decisions, operating costs, and gross margins across both environments. This is a fully remote role open to candidates in the United States or Canada, with no specific time zone preference.

What You'll Do

• Set the product strategy and roadmap across GitLab.com and GitLab Dedicated, connecting platform capabilities to customer and business outcomes.
• Drive improvements in platform reliability, scalability, and operability, including better customer isolation and cell-based architecture expansion.
• Define GitLab.com's rate limits, usage limits, and monetization strategy.
• Scale GitLab Dedicated via maintenance-window automation and operational improvements while controlling costs and improving gross margin.
• Expand customer self-service through Switchboard to allow customers to observe, monitor, and operate their Dedicated tenants.
• Guide disaster recovery, geographic redundancy, and early access beta programs for GitLab Dedicated.
• Minimize the release delay between core GitLab updates and their availability on Dedicated.
• Drive commercial product ownership, developing P&L models for both platforms and establishing GitLab.com as a sustainable P&L business.

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated track record leading a product portfolio at a director level or equivalent scope across multiple related products.
• Deep technical product experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure, or SaaS architectures, including reliability and scaling tradeoffs.
• Proven ability to tie product initiatives directly to commercial outcomes, monetization, and gross margin optimization.
• Strong capability to translate complex infrastructure and platform engineering challenges into clear product roadmaps.
• Track record of leading through influence and technical direction in a high-impact individual contributor capacity.
• Prior experience managing product P&L is highly valued, as is experience in an organization actively adopting AI workflows.
