Senior FP&A Analyst, Cloud Hosting - GitLab

About the Role

As a Senior FP&A Analyst, Cloud Hosting, you will serve as a key finance partner on GitLab’s FP&A team. You will provide timely, fact-based analysis and decision support for cloud and AI infrastructure investments, turning complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for engineering and finance leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Financial Management: Manage and report on cloud and AI-related expenses; maintain forecast models incorporating actuals, usage drivers, and business trends.
• Month-End Close: Execute recurring close activities, including accruals, allocations, reconciliations, variance analysis, and commentary.
• Planning & Modeling: Support annual planning cycles and build/enhance financial models to address evolving business questions.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with engineering, product, procurement, and accounting to gather inputs, resolve data discrepancies, and support spending decisions.
• Data Analysis: Analyze cloud billing data from provider consoles and exports to create clear narratives and decision-support materials.
• AI Integration: Utilize AI tools to automate reporting, data preparation, and analysis workflows to improve scalability and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience: Proven background in FP&A, corporate finance, or finance business partnering with exposure to vendor spend and forecasting.
• Analytical Skills: Strong financial modeling capabilities; ability to investigate variances and evaluate financial trade-offs.
• Communication: Ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Autonomy: Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate clearly in an asynchronous, distributed environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with cloud and AI vendor spend. FinOps or cloud cost management experience is a plus.
