Senior Named Account Executive - DACH

Role Overview

As a Senior Named Account Executive, you will serve as the primary connection between GitLab and mid-market customers in the DACH region. You will manage a broad book of business, guiding organizations of up to 4,000 team members through the adoption and expansion of GitLab’s AI-powered DevSecOps platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Sales: Manage the entire sales process from discovery and solution alignment to negotiation and closing.
  • Account Leadership: Provide direction across pre- and post-sales, partnering with technical teams and customer success.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate, evidence-based pipeline data, including buying criteria and process documentation.
  • Strategic Insights: Analyze wins and losses, contribute to root-cause analyses, and share best practices with the wider team.
  • Voice of the Customer: Represent customer needs by contributing product feedback and ideas to the public issue tracker.
  • Process Improvement: Actively contribute to the GitLab sales handbook to refine and document best practices.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Proven success in software sales, ideally within an enterprise market context.
  • Language: Fluent German language skills (required).
  • Sales Acumen: Strong ability to map buying processes, define criteria, and drive clear next steps.
  • Technical Aptitude: Interest in open source software; familiarity with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management is preferred.
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with business development, marketing, and technical teams.
