Senior Solutions Architect - AI & Platforms SME

About the Role

As a Senior Solutions Architect in GitLab’s global Solutions Architecture Center of Excellence, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and pre-sales partner. You will help customers unlock the value of GitLab’s AI-powered DevSecOps platform by solving complex challenges across the software lifecycle.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will act as the AI subject matter expert, owning the technical strategy for strategic accounts and leading Proof of Value (PoV) engagements. You will function as the technical “CTO” for your accounts, guiding digital transformation and modern software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• AI SME & Platform Strategy: Lead technical discovery, architecture design, and end-to-end evaluations to validate GitLab as the preferred agentic, AI-powered DevSecOps platform.
• Strategic Account Leadership: Own technical strategy and influence Customer Success Plans for assigned accounts, guiding multi-year transformation initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to shape account strategies and territory planning.
• Technical Guidance: Provide advanced support during the pre-sales cycle, including tender/audit support, workshop design, and complex integration solutions.
• Voice of the Customer: Translate real-world feedback into product requirements and roadmap input for AI, security, and platform capabilities.
• Thought Leadership: Create reusable technical assets (reference architectures, best practice guides) and mentor other Solutions Architects.

What You’ll Bring

• Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with AI (designing/implementing AI solutions) and modern software development (CI/CD, DevSecOps).
• Pre-Sales Experience: Proven background in technical pre-sales, software consulting, or similar roles connecting technology to business outcomes.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of cloud computing architectures and the ability to design systems spanning the entire software lifecycle.
• Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to both engineers and executives.
• Location Requirement: Must be based in and have full working rights in either Singapore or Australia.
