Cloud Security Engineer - Jane

About The Role

Join Jane as our new Cloud Security Engineer, where you'll help harden cloud-native systems, CI/CD pipelines, and container infrastructure that protect Jane and sensitive health information.

You'll work directly with our Staff Cloud Security Engineer to build out our Platform Security function from the ground up. This involves operationalizing our cloud-native application security posture across our cloud environments, building security guardrails directly into CI/CD pipelines, automating secret remediation, hardening container infrastructure, and shaping AI security at Jane.

AI is core to how this team works. As Jane builds AI-native healthcare software, the security function is architecting for the frontier ahead as much as securing what exists today. You will experiment with AI tooling and help shape how Jane secures AI at scale.

What Impact We're Looking For You To Make

• Cloud Posture Management: Contribute to maturing our cloud security posture management practice across AWS environments, prioritizing signal over noise, building remediation workflows, and measuring genuine coverage.
• Supply Chain & CI/CD Security: Ship CI/CD security integrations that developers use, hardening the supply chain via pipeline controls, container image validation, secrets gates, and developer-facing automation.
• Developer Enablement: Partner with infrastructure enablement and product teams to embed security into existing workflows, making secure defaults the easiest choice.
• AI Security Programme: Help shape our AI security programme at scale by contributing to standards, tooling, and governance patterns for AI agents and systems.
• Incident Response & Resilience: Participate in the on-call rotation, improving runbook quality and post-incident reviews to speed up response and continuous learning.

What Experience We Need

• AWS & Infrastructure: 2 to 4 years of solid grounding in AWS security across IAM, networking, compute, and storage. Hands-on depth reading and writing Terraform.
• CSPM / CNAPP Tooling: Working knowledge of CNAPP or CSPM tooling (such as Wiz or Prisma Cloud), including operationalizing findings and managing false positive rates.
• Pipeline & Artifact Security: Experience with secrets detection/remediation, IaC hardening, container image scanning, or CI/CD pipeline security controls across the SDLC.
• Kubernetes & Container Security: Fundamentals in Kubernetes or EKS security (RBAC hardening, Helm security configuration, network policies, admission control), ideally implementing policy guardrails via Kyverno or OPA/Gatekeeper.
• Systems Thinking: A systems-oriented approach to security that addresses root causes and prevents recurring issues across complex architectures.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Salary Range: $98,400 to $147,600 CAD (Accomplished benchmark starting around $116,900 CAD).
