Software Development Manager - Growth

About The Role

Jane is looking for an AI-first Development Manager to lead the developers on our Growth group, working alongside product, design, and data.

Our mission is Activation. Most clinics set up Jane on their own, and those first weeks shape everything that follows. When a clinic gets up and running early, it tends to stay with us for years, and when that early experience is right, Jane grows. The work spans improving the onboarding clinics use today and building a brand new agentic onboarding experience alongside it for tens of thousands of clinics.

You build with AI, stay close to the architecture and code, and help the team elevate their craft. You have strong opinions about what an agentic world could do for practitioners and want to test them with real clinics.

What Impact You'll Make

• Lead & Grow: Lead and grow a team of developers, coaching each person on technical and professional skills.
• Build Alongside: Review architecture, pair, and ship to keep technical depth a core team strength.
• Own Activation: Partner with product, design, and data to drive Activation outcomes and adjust course when needed.
• Guide AI Direction: Bring a clear point of view to AI-driven onboarding, defining problem frames, initial builds, and infrastructure needs.
• Ship Iteratively: Drive weekly releases, robust instrumentation, and intentional experimentation.
• Champion AI Adoption: Evaluate modern AI tools, understand how the team uses them, and bring pragmatic, responsible AI experiences to clinics.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with Jane AI, AI assistant teams, and core product teams to build a cohesive experience.

What Experience We Need

• Background as a hands-on software developer with progression into leading development teams as a people manager.
• Active engagement in writing and reviewing code, with comfort evaluating architectural tradeoffs alongside senior and staff developers.
• Track record on a growth or product-led growth (PLG) team owning metrics like activation or conversion.
• Experience taking an AI product from idea to customers and revenue, owning the journey end-to-end.
• Deep understanding of experimentation and instrumentation best practices.
• Demonstrated passion for developer coaching and team mentorship.
• Proactive communicator comfortable proposing ideas and learning in real-time.
• Experience in healthcare or vertical SaaS is a plus.

Compensation & Equity

• United States: $168,000 to $262,500 USD (accomplished level: ~$199,500 USD)
• Canada: $158,400 to $247,500 CAD (accomplished level: ~$188,100 CAD)
• Equity granted through the Jane Stock Option Plan (JSOP).
