Product Designer - Communications

About The Role

Communications keeps clinics and patients connected through Jane: working on text messaging, secure messaging, and the staff notification centre. The mission is to bridge care between visits, helping practitioners spend less time chasing messages and more time doing the work they love.

We're looking for a product designer who loves the craft of design—from thoughtful interaction details to adding delightful touches that make our work feel like Jane. You'll partner closely with developers and use our design system to create a consistent experience across our product. You'll also take part in customer research and own work from start to finish, with plenty of mentorship and room to grow into a senior role.

The Impact You Could Have

• Bring care and craft to the Communications experience by shaping interactions and introducing moments of delight.
• Own smaller projects end to end, from understanding the problem in a brief to shipping a polished improvement.
• Improve consistency across messaging surfaces by working within and championing Jane's design system.
• Partner closely with developers day to day so designs come to life as intended.
• Join customer research sessions and help turn clinic feedback into sharper prototypes and better solutions.
• Build strong relationships with designers in neighbouring groups and go-to-market partners.
• Champion pragmatic, responsible AI adoption in your design practice using tools like Claude Code for rapid prototyping.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a product designer in a commercial setting, having shipped features to customers.
• Product Lifecycle: Strong understanding of how design partners with product managers and developers in the software development lifecycle.
• Craft & Detail: Eye for interaction design and visual craft, with a focus on details like states, transitions, and microinteractions.
• Tools: Comfortable in Figma, familiar with design systems, and interested in using tools like Claude Code.
• Mindset: Bias to action, curious, comfortable asking questions, and welcoming feedback with an open mind.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $92,000 to $138,000 CAD per year (Accomplished stage starting target around $109,300 CAD).
