Payward, the parent company behind Kraken, has spent the last 15 years building a globally accessible financial infrastructure platform. We are now looking for a Staff Product Designer to lead the design of elite AI products, including a personal finance agent that shapes how people spend, save, invest, and live.

This is a 0→1 opportunity where you will have real ownership of the design work, working directly with product, engineering, and leadership with no layers of process.

The Opportunity

• End-to-End Ownership: Lead discovery, concept, prototyping, delivery, and launch.
• Zero to One: Turn early ideas and rough problem spaces into tangible, real-world products.
• AI Innovation: Build external B2C AI products and internal tools that redefine how Payward works.
• Thrive in Ambiguity: Define problems, set direction, and make decisions in the absence of formal briefs.
• Non-Deterministic Design: Shape how users interact with, understand, and trust intelligent systems where outputs vary.
• Visual Craft: Create forward-thinking, visually rich work that sets new benchmarks for AI products.
• Strategic Influence: Partner with leadership to influence product strategy and roadmaps.
• Rapid Prototyping: Make ideas tangible quickly to test, learn, and iterate.
• Research-Driven: Use user research, data, and experimentation to inform build decisions.

What You Bring

• 7+ years of experience in product design with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft.
• Proven track record of taking products from zero to launch as a lead or sole designer.
• World-class product thinking: Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions with incomplete information.
• Experience designing for non-deterministic, generative, or probabilistic AI products is highly desirable.
• Strong UX and visual design skills with a focus on clarity and elegance.
• Advanced prototyping skills to communicate complex interactions.
• Strong systems thinking to create coherent, scalable experiences from scratch.
