Senior Software Engineer II, Mobile - Revenue Experimentation (AI Native)

About Life360

Life360’s mission is to keep people close to the ones they love. Our category-leading mobile app, Tile tracking devices, and Pet GPS tracker empower members to protect the people, pets, and things they care about most with a range of services, including location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch. Life360 serves approximately 102.4 million monthly active users (MAU) across more than 180 countries.

About The Team

The Revenue Experimentation team (Direct Revenue org) is the engine behind how we grow and monetize Life360 responsibly. We design, ship, and analyze high-velocity experiments across ads, subscriptions, and one-time purchases so every monetization decision is grounded in evidence. We are a product-minded, AI-Native engineering team where AI is treated as a first-class collaborator at every stage: ideation, coding, testing, review, and iteration.

About the Job

Life360 is hiring an AI-Native Senior Software Engineer II to take real ownership of outcomes on the Revenue Experimentation team. You'll take a hypothesis and turn it into a running, safely-instrumented experiment across the Life360 app.

This role is Android-first, but candidates who are willing to build across iOS, web, or backend when an experiment calls for it are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build high-quality Android growth and monetization features and experiments (paywalls, pricing tests, ad placement, IAP flows, and upsell surfaces).
  • Partner with product, design, data science, and analytics to translate hypotheses into shippable experiments.
  • Work with AI (Claude Code or equivalent) as a first-class collaborator to orchestrate agents for specs, code generation, testing, and reviews.
  • Instrument experiments accurately with robust exposure logging and analytics.
  • Ship polished, performant, reliable Android experiences with strong attention to startup time, memory, battery, ANR, and crash-free rates.
  • Own staged rollouts end-to-end, monitor guardrails, and manage rollbacks or scaling.
  • Help define and codify AI-native Android engineering practices for the team.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Foundation:

  • 6+ years of Android software engineering experience shipping production apps at consumer scale.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs.
  • Strong proficiency with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Flow.
  • Experience with Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Hilt/Dagger) in large codebases.
  • Comfort with mobile experimentation concepts (feature flagging, A/B testing, holdouts, guardrail metrics).
  • Grounding in mobile performance, memory, battery, ANR, and crash diagnostics.
  • Experience with CI/CD for Android and modular build systems.
  • Expertise with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and context-window management.

What Matters Most to Us:

  • Agency: You don't wait to be told what to do; you take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Ownership Mentality: You own your work from design through production and beyond.
  • Taste and Craft: You have strong opinions on good experiment design and user experience.
  • Growth Mindset: You learn quickly and enjoy trying new approaches.
  • AI-Native Working Style: You use AI tooling as a genuine development partner for parallel workstreams.

Our Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans (100% paid for US employees; supplemental plans for Canada).
  • 401(k) plan with company matching in the US and RRSP/DPSP for Canadian employees.
  • Paid parental leave and generous flexible PTO.
  • Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Equipment, tools, and remote work reimbursement support.
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership and Tile trackers.
