About n8n
n8n is the open workflow orchestration platform built for the new era of AI. We give technical teams the freedom of code with the speed of no-code, so they can automate faster, smarter, and without limits. Backed by a fiercely inventive community and 500+ builder-approved integrations, we’re changing the way people bring systems together and scale ideas for impact.
Since our founding in 2019, we’ve grown into a diverse team of over 260 working across Europe and the US, connected by a shared builder spirit and with our centre of gravity in Berlin.
The Role
Your main goal will be to turn n8n’s most strategic enterprise deployments into production-ready success stories by embedding on-site, solving real customer problems, and building reusable automation patterns that shape our product.
You’ll work directly with customers, Deployment Strategists, and Product to make every engagement high-impact, scalable, and repeatable.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive high-impact enterprise deployments: Embed on-site with enterprise customers for focused 5-day deployment engagements, arriving with a hypothesis and leaving with production workflows in place. Partner with Deployment Strategists to align technical execution with customer priorities.
- Build production-grade automation solutions: Design and build workflows, integrations, and custom nodes tailored to each customer’s environment. Extend existing n8n nodes or add missing functionality where needed.
- Bridge customer needs with Product and Engineering: Identify when a bespoke customer requirement should become a reusable node improvement, product feature, or platform capability. Create a clear feedback loop with Product and Engineering.
- Turn customer learnings into product and playbooks: Document technical gaps, customer context, and implementation learnings. Contribute reusable workflows and patterns to an internal playbook library.
- Keep engagements focused and scalable: Deliver time-boxed customer engagements with clear outcomes. Build solutions that customers can own and operate themselves.
Requirements
Must-haves
- Strong engineering background: Solid full-stack or backend engineering experience building integrations, APIs, or automation pipelines in production environments.
- Integration-building expertise: Ability to create custom nodes, extend existing integrations, and work confidently with APIs, authentication patterns, data models, and event-driven systems.
- Product-minded technical execution: Ability to distinguish between a one-off customer workaround, a reusable node improvement, and a product feature worth escalating.
- Customer-facing confidence: Comfortable working directly in customer environments and building trust with engineers, operators, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solution design skills: Ability to take a messy operational problem and turn it into a clean, practical technical design.
- Strong technical judgment: Knowing when to build, when to push back, and how to avoid gold-plating solutions.
- Willingness to travel: Open to travelling roughly 50-60% of the time for on-site engagements, primarily across Europe.
- Speed to productive: Ability to quickly understand new industries, tech stacks, and customer environments.
Nice-to-haves
- Workflow automation experience: Familiarity with n8n or similar workflow automation tools.
- Enterprise deployment experience: Experience working with strategic enterprise accounts in complex technical environments.
- Node or connector development: Experience building custom nodes, connectors, plugins, SDKs, or reusable integration frameworks.
- Forward deployed experience: Experience in a forward deployed, solutions engineering, or similar role at a product-led technical organization.
- Product feedback experience: Experience turning customer learnings into clear product feedback, roadmap input, or engineering specifications.
