About n8n
n8n is the open workflow orchestration platform built for the new era of AI. We give technical teams the freedom of code with the speed of no-code, so they can automate faster, smarter, and without limits. Backed by a fiercely inventive community and 500+ builder-approved integrations, we’re changing the way people bring systems together and scale ideas for impact.
Since our founding in 2019, we’ve grown into a diverse team of over 260 working across Europe and the US, connected by a shared builder spirit and with our centre of gravity in Berlin.
The Role
Your main goal will be to turn n8n's pricing and packaging into a deliberate, data-informed growth lever—one that scales revenue and adoption across our entire go-to-market, from our 1.5 million-strong community to global Enterprise accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Build the Analytical Foundation for Pricing
- Model Ownership: Build and own the model connecting unit economics, agent run cost, willingness-to-pay, gross margin, and customer value.
- Market Intelligence: Maintain competitive and market intelligence so our pricing keeps pace with a category that's shifting fast.
- Experimentation: Run pricing experiments and turn the results into documented, reusable learnings.
Design Our Pricing & Packaging Architecture
- Plan Design: Shape plan design and packaging across our community, self-serve, and Enterprise tiers, plus add-ons like our startup and charity plans.
- AI & Consumption Models: Design pricing for new SKUs and consumption-based models as our product and cost-to-serve evolve around AI Assistant and n8n Connect.
- Enablement: Build packaging frameworks and decision tools that product teams use directly to launch new features.
Drive and Roll Out Pricing Decisions
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Lead cross-functional pricing decision-making and secure buy-in across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, RevOps, and Data.
- End-to-End Rollouts: Own the rollout of major pricing changes end-to-end, from decision to launch to measured impact.
- Framework Governance: Build and own our pricing frameworks: list pricing, discount guardrails, decision rubrics, grandfathering rules, and usage-based billing decisions.
Requirements
Must-have
- Pricing leadership in B2B SaaS: 6+ years in pricing, monetisation, or commercial strategy, including at least one full cycle leading a major pricing model transition (e.g., subscription to consumption, seat-based to usage-based, or a platform repricing).
- Hands-on with modern pricing models: Personally designed and rolled out consumption-based, outcome-based, or AI-native pricing at a company past $100M ARR.
- Both self-serve and Enterprise motions: Experience owning pricing on both sides of the funnel—self-serve/PLG (activation, conversion, tier design, funnel experimentation) and Enterprise, sales-led (packaging for large accounts, deal economics, discount governance).
- Deep analytical rigour: Ability to build financial models independently and reason fluently about unit economics, cost-to-serve, gross margin, willingness-to-pay, and elasticity.
- Billing fluency, technical and operational: Understanding of event metering, rating, entitlements, proration, overage, and revenue recognition, with experience partnering with a Billing function on invoicing, dunning, true-ups, and disputes.
- Empathy for technical users and buyers: Understanding of where, how, and why developers and technical buyers assign value across a product experience.
- Frameworks over bottlenecks: Experience building packaging frameworks and decision tools that product teams use independently, rather than routing every pricing decision through you.
- Cross-functional influence: Ability to bring Product, Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and Billing into alignment on contentious commercial decisions.
- Motivated by scope, not headcount: Energised by owning a global, high-stakes topic as an individual contributor, with analytical support from Data and RevOps.
Nice-to-have
- Formal pricing training: Training at Simon-Kucher or the pricing practice of another consultancy.
- Developer tools experience: Experience pricing products sold to engineers and technical teams.
- Open source or freemium background: Knowledge of how to design pricing that converts a free community into paying customers without breaking trust.
