About n8n
n8n is the open workflow orchestration platform built for the new era of AI. We give technical teams the freedom of code with the speed of no-code, so they can automate faster, smarter, and without limits. Backed by a fiercely inventive community and 500+ builder-approved integrations, we’re changing the way people bring systems together and scale ideas for impact.
Since our founding in 2019, we’ve grown into a diverse team of over 260 working across Europe and the US, connected by a shared builder spirit and with our centre of gravity in Berlin.
The Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Product Designer who thrives in ambiguity and challenging problem spaces. n8n is a powerful, flexible technical tool, which means the problems you tackle as a designer are complex. Your design decisions must account for diverse user workflows, technical constraints, and how changes impact the entire platform. To thrive here, you will need to love talking to users, understanding technology, and reducing complexity and scope.
We’re currently hiring for different teams with specific focus on:
- Enterprise: Work on technical B2B platforms where workflows are the product. Design for scale, governance, and collaboration across teams (permissions, environments, observability, and failure modes).
- AI: Define the future of AI-powered workflows, working on AI tools, agents, or builders.
- Growth: Optimize onboarding and activation flows, run rapid iteration and experimentation, and move key metrics.
- Marketplace: Build a multi-sided platform from the ground up, balancing the distinct needs of supply and demand sides.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Product Design
- Lead the full design process for your team, from discovery to polished delivery, collaborating closely with PMs and engineers.
- Consistently ship high-quality, visually cohesive designs that improve the overall UX at every release.
- Work effectively on complex features with a strong engineering mindset and understanding of the underlying technology.
- Take ownership of complex, multi-faceted problems and drive them to completion with initiative and autonomy.
Research, Feedback, and UX Quality
- Champion the user by running interviews, usability tests, and research to inform critical product and business decisions.
- Master the feedback loop by gathering, synthesizing, and acting on input while giving actionable critique to elevate teammates’ work.
- Balance speed and quality in an MVP-driven environment, navigating ambiguity while maintaining a high bar.
Systems Thinking and Platform Coherence
- Design in systems, integrating solutions into the broader n8n platform and safeguarding the product’s big picture.
- Account for edge cases, constraints, and interaction details so users never end up in impossible states.
- Collaborate across teams and designers to ensure consistency and quality across shared patterns and components.
Strategy, Impact, and Innovation
- Shape team strategy by influencing planning, prioritization, and scope with a strong design perspective tied to KPIs.
- Explore and adopt AI and automation tools to push the boundaries of design practice and AI-powered workflows.
