About the Team

Netlify's Finance team builds the financial foundation that helps the company plan, operate, and make informed decisions. The team owns our operating model, management reporting, budgeting and planning, and the company-level metrics leadership uses to understand performance and make tradeoffs.

As Senior Finance Manager, you'll own the corporate finance cycle and decide what it should become. That covers monthly reporting, the driver-based forecast, annual planning, scenario work, and the KPI layer, extending past running them well to bringing your experience to improve and innovate on our processes. This is a hands-on role with real latitude: you will work directly with senior leadership on capital, pricing, and headcount decisions, and will leverage AI to build better tooling and make Finance faster and less dependent on manual work.

What You'll Do

  • Own the corporate finance cycle end-to-end, including the monthly reporting package, the driver-based forecast, annual planning, and scenario analysis, redesigning parts that no longer hold up as we scale.
  • Frame which scenarios are worth running ahead of capital, pricing, and headcount decisions, bringing actionable recommendations rather than just a set of outputs.
  • Lead the annual planning process across departments, from calendar and templates through consolidation and board-ready output.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment on metric definitions, reporting dimensions, and financial data hygiene.
  • Own the company-level KPI and metrics layer, deciding what leadership measures as the business evolves, and maintaining a clear view on trends driving each metric.
  • Drive market and competitor research to support pricing and packaging, capital allocation, and improve financial forecasting.
  • Communicate complex financial mechanics to stakeholders outside finance, driving cross-functional decisions and leadership buy-in.
  • Set how budget management runs across departments, defining cadences and accountabilities for department leaders.
  • Act as a thought leader steering the finance function's AI operating standard, building systems and agents to support it.
  • Partner with Sales leadership on capacity modeling and KPI tracking.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years in FP&A or strategic finance, including several years at a SaaS or usage-based business. Background in investment banking, consulting, or private equity preferred; strong modeling skills, framework development, and scenario modeling are essential.
  • Multiple annual planning cycles owned end-to-end.
  • Proven track record of building 3-statement models from scratch with scenario and sensitivity analysis, making structural model improvements beyond updating inputs.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Advanced Google Sheets or Excel skills with comfort navigating large datasets and formula-heavy models.
  • Comfort framing abstract business problems and building frameworks to solve them.
  • Deep system-level understanding of how financial data moves across source systems, data warehouses, and reporting layers.
  • Deep command of SaaS metrics and their underlying drivers, with a point of view on which metrics matter at our stage.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Hands-on experience building AI workflows that other teams adopt, with a clear view on where human checks belong.
  • Experience presenting analysis and recommendations to executive staff with a track record of driving org-level impact.
  • Deep curiosity about our business, product, customers, competitors, and industry trends.

This Role Is a Great Fit If

  • You want to own a function end-to-end, redesigning and running the corporate finance cycle yourself.
  • You're comfortable being the sole owner of this work with no direct reports or junior analysts supporting the role.
  • You stay up to date with industry trends, research competitive landscapes, and convert insights into actionable recommendations.
  • You independently identify and eliminate manual or inefficient processes.
  • You're excited to build financial tooling, reporting layers, and automation from the ground up.
