About The Role

The Hyderabad Infra team builds and maintains Notion's internal async task runner and configuration management platform. The async task runner plays a critical role in ensuring our millions of users have a fast, reliable, and secure experience. As part of this team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape how Notion manages and scales its infrastructure.

What You'll Achieve

• System Evolution: Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of our async task runner to support over 100 million global users.
• Reliability & Scalability: Ensure systems remain efficient and scalable, integrating new technologies to address emerging challenges.
• Engineering Empowerment: Empower the broader engineering team to build features confidently while growing your expertise in distributed systems.
• Incident Management: Debug live production systems, participate in on-call rotations, and manage failovers to uphold service reliability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product engineers and other infra teams to align platforms with evolving business needs.

Skills You'll Need

• Experience: At least 4 years of software development experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Systems Thinking: Deep understanding of distributed systems, including tradeoffs like consistency, latency, and scalability.
• Pragmatic Problem-Solving: Ability to balance craft, speed, and long-term maintainability with a focus on business impact.
• Ownership: Thrives in unstructured environments with a bias toward action and results.
• Customer Empathy: Strong collaboration skills to unblock engineers and support those who depend on our infrastructure.
• AI Curiosity: Willingness to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
