Job Summary
Payscale is seeking a smart, motivated, rigorous, and diligent individual to join its Finance team's FP&A group. We are a $200m ARR, highly profitable SaaS company. This role requires a hands-on approach, where you will be expected to be actively involved daily. You'll join a team whose leaders have public company (including IPO) experience, reporting to a CFO with an FP&A background, setting a high bar for performance. We are looking for someone with resilience, a strong sense of urgency, drive, and a "just-get-it-done" attitude.
This is an excellent opportunity to:
- Learn (or deepen your knowledge of) a SaaS business.
- Be in a position to make a daily impact on the business.
- Help drive a multi-hundred-million-dollar company towards a successful financial exit in the coming years.
We are looking for individuals who possess existing knowledge and have a strong capacity to learn, including a genuine interest in using AI to automate tasks, sharpen analyses, and drive efficiency. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of FP&A projects and partner cross-functionally with teams throughout the business.
Candidates will undergo technical and fit interviews, and references will be checked. While this role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States, please note that FP&A leadership is located on the West Coast. Responsibilities will be commensurate with the quality of your work product, not necessarily your seniority, meaning high-quality analyses will lead to opportunities to present and participate in key decisions.
Who You Are
- Inquisitive and eager to understand how things work.
- AI-forward: genuinely interested in AI and eager to use it to automate manual tasks, improve workflows, and realize efficiencies in FP&A work.
- Strong bias towards building (and rebuilding) processes rather than simply maintaining existing ones, always seeking improvements.
- Enjoy diving into data, running analyses, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Adept at building relationships across the organization, translating financial numbers, and guiding actionable strategies.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Assist in building best-in-class financial operations, data accuracy, forecasting capabilities, and actionable analyses.
- Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, streamline reporting and workflows, freeing up time for higher-value analysis.
- Embrace and promote a culture of rigor, discipline, accuracy, consistency, and accountability within FP&A and across the business.
- Collaborate with teammates, peers, and business partners to understand underlying trends and metrics, developing strategies to influence business direction.
- Engage in robust business partnering to drive efficiencies, best practices, and optimal risk-taking.
- Drive operational improvements across all aspects of the business and all three financial statements.
- Learn and utilize our financial reporting tool (Adaptive Insights) in daily workflows.
- Perform ad-hoc scenario analysis to drive actionable business changes.
- Lead your portion of the monthly close process, investigating and resolving issues, and communicating findings to peers and partners.
- Help develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of financial analysis experience or a related field. Relevant experience (SaaS/tech, PE or VC backed, high-intensity environment) is prioritized over specific timeframes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated steady career progression.
- Experience in a SaaS business model is a strong positive.
- Demonstrated experience with go-to-market (GTM) FP&A reporting and analytics within a SaaS environment, including forecasting and analyzing ARR, bookings, pipeline, and key revenue drivers across segments (new business, upsell, renewal, churn).
- Excellent Excel skills (or ability to quickly achieve proficiency) in a Microsoft environment.
- Highly analytical, with a keen eye for detail and a learning mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Comfortable with working diligently and being rewarded for it.
Skills You Have
- Technical: Proficient in Excel and experience with Adaptive Insights (or a similar FP&A planning tool).
- Accuracy: Strive for excellence and possess great attention to detail.
- Time Management: Understand and are flexible when re-prioritizing work based on business needs.
Tools You’ll Use
- Adaptive Insights
- Netsuite
- Salesforce
- Tableau
- Snowflake
