Phaidra is 100% remote with no physical office, and our team is located around the globe. This specific role is open to candidates located in the USA or Canada.

Who You Are

As an AI Controls Solutions Engineer, you'll play a critical role in operationalizing and scaling Phaidra's solutions for enterprise data center customers.

Responsibilities

• Facility Modeling & Commissioning: Use Phaidra’s products and your knowledge of customer needs to create facility models for ingestion. Configure products, commission and tune systems, and assist in analyzing and triaging issues during support phases.
• Product Requirements & Scaling: Work with the product team to define requirements based on customer specifications, translating customer needs into documentation for software development.
• Deployment & Ongoing Support: Lead the deployment and support of multiple solutions, resolve onboarding or support tickets, troubleshoot control systems, and manage risk using Phaidra’s pipelines.
• SME & Advisory: Act as an internal and customer-facing SME for platinum support, research projects, and sales/marketing efforts. (Note: This role can include up to 25% travel)

Key Qualifications

• 5-10 years of work experience as a controls engineer, programmer, or equivalent.
• Expertise in HVAC and Data Center cooling control methodologies, chiller plant fundamentals, and sequences of operation.
• Understanding of applied thermodynamics for cooling systems, refrigeration systems, and hydronics.
• Experience in controls design engineering or working knowledge of industrial and commercial control systems/protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
• Proficiency in air side chilled water and direct expansion cooling systems.
• Experience programming control systems with PLC, ladder logic, text, or block programming languages.
• Ability to read and write Python scripts to implement Phaidra's AI development tool.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex domain-specific and AI/ML concepts to non-experts.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience rapidly prototyping new technologies into commercial products.
• Experience building, owning, and operating codebases/services or architecting cloud services.
• Experience applying AI/ML in controls applications and working with optimization problems.
• Familiarity with markup languages like XML, JSON, or YAML.
