Who You Are

As a Senior AI Controls Solutions Engineer, you'll play a critical role in operationalizing and scaling Phaidra's solutions for enterprise data center customers.

We are seeking a team member located in Australia or Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Facility Modeling & Commissioning: Use Phaidra’s products and customer insights to create models of facilities, configure products to requirements, and commission, tune, and triage systems in support phases.
• Product Requirements & Translation: Work with product teams and other engineers to translate customer-stated and implied needs into coherent documentation for software development.
• Support & Operations: Provide ongoing support for deployed products, resolve onboarding/support tickets, monitor performance, and actively manage risk.
• SME & Leadership: Act as an internal and customer-facing SME, delivering platinum support, technical advice for research, and sales/marketing support.

(This role can include up to 25% travel)

Key Qualifications

• 10-15 years of work experience as a controls engineer, programmer, or equivalent.
• Expertise in HVAC and Data Center cooling control methodologies, chiller plant fundamentals, and sequence of operations.
• Ability to operate independently as a senior team member, managing complex multi-customer projects.
• Understanding of applied thermodynamics for cooling systems, refrigeration, and hydronics.
• Experience designing, programming, or strong working knowledge of industrial/commercial control systems and protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
• Strong proficiency working with data center operations teams.
• Experience programming control systems with PLC, ladder logic, text, or block programming languages.
• Ability to read and write Python scripts in collaboration with software engineering.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex domain-specific and AI/ML concepts to non-experts.

• Experience rapidly prototyping new technologies into commercial products.
• Experience building, owning, and operating codebases/services.
• Experience architecting services within cloud platforms.
• Experience applying AI/ML in controls applications.
