Role Overview

As a Senior AI Controls Solutions Engineer, you'll play a critical role in operationalizing and scaling Phaidra's solutions for enterprise data center customers.

Note: We are seeking a team member located in the USA or Canada. This role can include up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Subject Matter Expert: Use Phaidra’s products and your knowledge of customer needs to create facility models for ingestion. Work with Data Science to create representations in Mort system builder, map tag data, review Insights logic, and assist in support.
• Product Requirements: Work with the product team to define requirements based on customer specifications and ensure automated tools enable scaling across thousands of customers.

Key Qualifications

• 10-15 years of work experience as a controls engineer, programmer, or equivalent.
• Expertise in HVAC and Data Center cooling control methodologies, chiller plant fundamentals, and sequence of operations.
• Understanding of applied thermodynamics for cooling systems, refrigeration systems, and hydronics.
• Experience designing, programming, or working with industrial and commercial control systems and protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
• Ability to troubleshoot, triage, and analyze issues with control systems and equipment.
• Experience programming control systems with PLC, ladder logic, text, or block programming languages.
• Ability to read and write Python scripts in collaboration with software engineering.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex domain-specific concepts.

• Experience rapidly prototyping new technologies into commercial products.
• Experience building, owning, and operating codebases/services.
• Experience architecting services within cloud platforms.
• Experience applying AI and ML in controls applications.
• Familiarity with markup languages like XML, JSON, or YAML.
