At Replicant, we believe AI should work for people, starting with customer service. That's why we built a platform that helps contact centers resolve more requests, proactively identify issues, and improve agent performance with AI-powered conversation intelligence and AI agents that act like your best reps.
Our AI agents handle millions of calls every month for Fortune 500 companies and high-growth innovators. From processing payments to booking appointments and authenticating users, they help customers get what they need instantly, 24/7. Meanwhile, our real-time conversation insights help contact center leaders coach better and improve every interaction.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Agents on our Delivery team, you make working AI agents a reality for specific customers: you sit with them to understand their workflows, design and write the agent's instructions and conversation behavior, build the integrations the agent calls as tools, and own the agent end to end from blank prompt to production.
What You'll Do
- Own AI agents for assigned customers across the full lifecycle: discovery, design, build, evaluation, launch, and live operation.
- Translate ambiguous business goals into a concrete agent scope, uncovering real business rules and ensuring the agent enforces them strictly.
- Design and write the agent's prompts, instructions, and conversation flows, iterating against evals, real transcripts, and product taste.
- Wire the agent into customer systems (CRMs, ticketing, internal services), calling their APIs as tools, shaping inputs/outputs, and handling auth, errors, and edge cases.
- Build test sets covering happy paths, unhappy paths, edge cases, and hallucination risks; harden agents for production with guardrails, failure modes, latency, and cost in mind.
- Monitor live conversations and tool-call health, debug from logs and transcripts, and ship fixes under pressure.
- Feed recurring patterns and missing capabilities back to Product.
What You'll Bring
- Customer-facing strength: Ability to converse credibly, earn trust quickly, decompose ambiguous problems into concrete plans, and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Integration fluency: Experience connecting agents to APIs, endpoints, and protocols, designing clean tool schemas, and handling auth and edge cases.
- Prompt and instruction craft: Skilled at shaping LLM behavior through structure, instructions, and examples. Experience working eval-first with strong product taste.
- Nice to Have: General-purpose coding experience (TypeScript, Python, SQL); prior forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-embedded work; conversational AI, voice, or contact center domain experience; experience with LLM evaluation tooling and observability.
- Note: A computer science degree or software engineering title is not required. Backgrounds in systems administration, integration engineering, or technical support are warmly welcomed.
