The Role
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead engineering for RC Capital β a zero-to-one team on the ground floor of a brand-new business line. You'll help design, build, ship, and support the infrastructure behind Early Payouts and whatever we build next:
- Underwriting and risk monitoring
- Money movement and reconciliation
- Partner bank integrations
- Fraud detection
This role blends technical depth with direct exposure to financial products (factoring, underwriting, risk, banking integrations). A background in fintech, financial services, or a related regulated/risk-sensitive domain is essential.
Note: Although we're fully remote, this team is based across US and European time zones, so there is an expectation of overlap in working hours.
About You
- 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally to build prioritized roadmaps for your teams.
- Ability to balance shipping new features, managing tech debt, and investing in system improvements.
- Hands-on technical capability to perform code reviews and bug investigation when needed.
- Comfortable writing SQL queries to analyze data and find inconsistencies.
- Experience guiding teams to consistently produce value through shorter iterative development cycles.
- Experience providing technical leadership and coaching engineers in career development.
- Customer-obsessed mindset, prioritizing user outcomes and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a highly engaged distributed team by hiring, supporting, and coaching members to deliver continuously.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and support teams to set direction and anticipate strategic scaling challenges through long-term planning.
- Execute the product roadmap iteratively, establishing efficient and transparent processes.
- Continuously improve engineering organization practices to create a strong sense of ownership, belonging, and inclusivity.
