About Runpod
Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud, empowering over one million developers—from indie researchers to teams running frontier models in production—to experiment, train, fine-tune, deploy, and scale AI on a single platform. Our platform has processed more than 20 billion inference requests, and we successfully closed a $100M Series A in June 2026. We are a small, remote-first team that values ownership and moves fast, with our work shipping to more than a million developers.
The Role
You'll join the Marketing team, which is responsible for Runpod's visual and auditory presence across the site, launches, events, social media, and every touchpoint a developer encounters before creating an account. Video reports directly into Brand, reflecting our commitment to treating it as a craft function with high standards, rather than a service desk.
Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with DevRel, Content, Events, and Growth teams.
This is Runpod's inaugural video hire, offering a unique opportunity to build a video system from the ground up. The demand is significant, with 220 to 500 deliverables annually across social, paid media, demos, and launches. Given our technical product and discerning audience, precision is key. You will define Runpod's video system, including formats, templates, external talent, measurement strategies, and quality benchmarks.
This is a senior individual contributor, player-coach role. You'll dedicate approximately 70% of your time to hands-on editing and 30% to managing the video queue from intake to delivery. You will collaborate with a videographer who covers all US events and a motion contractor.
The focus of this role is editorial and motion design, not live action or camera work. These areas are critical to nearly every asset we produce and offer compounding value: building a template once significantly reduces the cost of subsequent launch videos.
Responsibilities
- Own intake, brief, scope, schedule, delivery, and measurement for all video requests at Runpod.
- Make and defend craft decisions (e.g., ship, one more round, rethink) to streamline approval processes.
- Meet cycle-time targets: 48 hours for social cutdowns and templated assets, five business days for demos, 72 hours for event wraps, and fifteen to twenty business days for bespoke launch animation.
- Maintain an accurate tracker with owners, dates, and reasons for any cancelled requests.
- Cut every video personally, from story and pacing to dead-air discipline and final delivery.
- Ensure real product is displayed on screen, legible enough for developers to take seriously at social media sizes.
- Build the template format library for demos, launches, customer reels, social cutdowns, and event wraps.
- Animate title sequences and data callouts independently, with deliberate choices for easing and type rhythm.
- Develop variant systems for 30 to 80 paid ad cuts, avoiding manual, one-off video production.
- Stay current on where AI generation enhances video production and where it detracts from quality, especially as we sell AI infrastructure.
- Direct the videographer and motion contractor, requiring source files in every Statement of Work (SOW) to retain ownership of our system.
Requirements
- Proven experience shipping video for a technical or developer audience, with the ability to detail specific assets and your role in their creation. (A client list is less informative; we'll ask what a developer audience won't forgive.)
- Ability to cut fast and finish clean, solo: handling edit, sound, captions, aspect variants, and delivery specs without handoffs. Experience working to a 48-hour deadline and describing necessary compromises.
- Comfortable with AI-capable workflow integration using Remotion or equivalent code-based programmatic video generation to build automated variant and template pipelines.
- Motion-capable in After Effects or equivalent, creating motion choices independently without relying on presets.
- Has run a video program end-to-end and stood behind the final decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing a freelance bench and studio relationships, including day rates and running SOWs from the client side.
- Strong distribution and measurement instincts beyond simple view counts.
- Exposure to 3D or hardware visualization. We prioritize knowing when 3D is worth commissioning over your ability to build it.
- Experience as the first or only video person in an organization, understanding the associated challenges.
What You'll Receive
- Competitive Base Pay: The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $185,000. This range may encompass multiple career levels and will be refined during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location.
- Meaningful Equity: Everyone on the team receives stock options, allowing you to share in the company's success.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Generous medical, dental, and vision plans.
- Flexible PTO: Take the time you need to recharge.
- Remote-First Culture: Most roles are remote-first, with Slack as the primary internal communication channel.
- Home Office Stipend: A $1,200 stipend for home office setup and equipment.
