Frontend Engineer - Supabase

About the Role

Team Frontend at Supabase owns the tooling for our marketing/docs website and our core product, "Studio." Used by millions of developers, we live and die by user feedback and relentlessly address issues to improve the product.

What You’ll Own

• Ship products 0→1: Take features from a blank editor to production. Use support threads, usage data, and direct conversations to iterate based on real user feedback.
• Own the quality pipeline: Build and tighten layered checks (type safety, linting, unit/component tests, contract tests, accessibility, visual regression, and bundle-size budgets) to ensure speed remains safe.
• Prevent regressions: When bugs occur, implement checks at the earliest possible stage to ensure the same issue never happens twice.
• Work end-to-end: Operate autonomously across the stack—from UI and API contracts to observability—working in the open within a codebase used by thousands.

What You’ll Bring

• 0→1 Track Record: Proven experience launching products and iterating based on real-world usage.
• Frontend Fundamentals: Deep expertise in TypeScript and React, with a strong understanding of the modern landscape (SSR, streaming, server components, edge).
• Quality-First Mindset: You view tests, types, and CI as accelerators. Experience with tools like Vitest, Playwright, or MSW is highly valued.
• AI Collaboration: Comfort reviewing and guiding AI coding agents, tightening architectures, and establishing guardrails.
• Autonomy: Strong async communication skills and the ability to thrive without top-down task assignment.
