ZenRows is the web data infrastructure for AI. Founded in 2021, we give developers, AI agents, and businesses one reliable way to access, extract, and structure data from any website, at any scale, however hard the site tries to block them.
Whether it’s an agent that needs fresh web context mid-task, an LLM application grounded in live data, or an enterprise pipeline pulling millions of pages a day, ZenRows handles the rendering, anti-bot defences, and parsing behind a single API handling 10B+ requests a month. Teams at more than 10,000 companies—including Microsoft, Amazon, Dell, IBM, Slack, eBay, EY, Nokia, and Clay—rely on ZenRows to turn the web into a reliable source of data for their products, workflows, and AI-driven applications.
As we continue our expansion, we are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join us on a permanent basis and make an instant impact, working directly with the CEO and CTO.
The Role
AI runs on web data, and more and more of the work that needs it is done by AI agents. ZenRows is how they get it. Fetch gets any page past the toughest anti-bot systems. Extract turns it into clean, structured data. Batch and Crawl do it across whole websites.
We’re also changing how software gets built. Our engineers write 100% of their code with agents. We are moving operational workflows from manual, to automated, to autonomous, trusting agents with real work in production. Very few teams are doing this for real. We are, and we want you to help lead it.
What You’ll Do
- Own a customer-facing product end-to-end: what it does, how it runs, and the business metrics it moves. There are no product managers—you talk to customers, decide what to build, build it with agents, ship it, and own it.
- Design high-load systems built to handle millions of requests a day across thousands of CPU cores while staying ahead of complex anti-bot systems.
- Build the tests, evals, and guardrails that ensure an agent’s output can be trusted in production.
- Shape how the company works with AI agents, turning best practices into company-wide engineering standards.
- Look across the company to find high-value technical opportunities and execute on them autonomously.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience building high-load, complex production systems and setting technical direction.
- A product-first mindset: prioritizing business impact, customer needs, and outcome measurement before code.
- Expertise in AI-native engineering: building with agents daily, verifying their outputs, and taking ownership of shipped products.
- Strong written communication skills to write clear specs, decision records, and context for autonomous agents.
- Ability to collaborate directly with non-technical business partners (Sales, GTM, Operations) without needing intermediary product managers.
- High autonomy, ownership mindset, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on proficiency with or willingness to quickly learn Go, AWS, and Terraform.
- Availability to work within EMEA time zones for real-time team collaboration.
Why You Might Not Fit
- If you prefer rigid development methodologies (Scrum/Agile) or structured daily instructions rather than mission-driven autonomy.
- If you are uncomfortable working alongside and delegating to AI agents daily.
- If you dislike written documentation and decision records.
- If you prefer corporate predictability and established processes over early-stage startup growth.
