Developer, Web Extension - 1Password

The Filling & Saving team builds and maintains the core experience for filling and saving data online to make 1Password the easiest password manager in the world. We’re excited to continue setting the standard in password management as well as building unified sign-in capabilities across platforms. You will work with Product, Design, and QA teams internally as well as the open-source community to advance our filling and saving experience.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Proven experience in software development best practices and coding standards.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for testing methodologies and debugging techniques to ensure high-quality code.

Bonus Points

• Experience building and maintaining browser extensions for Chromium, Firefox, and/or Safari.
• Experience with Rust, Go, or related languages.
• Experience with Web APIs like DOM features, Navigation API, and IndexedDB API.

What You Can Expect

• Code, test, debug, deliver, and maintain production software systems for new and existing product features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders throughout the development cycle.
• Translate technical requirements to stakeholders and solve technical problems in a scalable way.
• Mentor junior and new team members via technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and pair programming.
• Participate in planning by breaking down, estimating, and scheduling work.
• Write comprehensive tests during various stages of development.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high quality and foster a culture of constructive feedback.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation.
• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency support.

Compensation & Location

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the United States.

• US Salary Range: $123,000 USD – $172,000 USD base per year + equity + benefits.
• Canada Salary Range: $111,000 CAD – $155,000 CAD base per year + equity + benefits.
