Senior Fullstack Engineer - Appfire

About the Role

Are you passionate about building awesome products? Do you get excited about being part of a team that really cares? The Astroneers are highly engaged and extra-supportive teammates dealing with exciting technical challenges in a transparent environment.

The team primarily focuses on the Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE) and Jira Misc Custom Fields (JMCF) products while regularly embarking on side adventures like helping other teams, experimenting with Slack integration, or exploring AI capabilities. You’ll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle: ideation, design, development, release, and maintenance.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate: Join a self-organizing, cross-functional product team and cooperate closely with other Software Engineers, Product Managers, Team Leaders, and specialists like Product Marketeers or Support Engineers.
• Build & Maintain: Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable applications written mainly in Effect-TS and Node.js.
• Best Practices: Follow and establish the best engineering practices: automated testing, code review, pair programming, and YBIYRI (you built it you run it).
• Cloud Automation: Automate cloud services and configuration management to ensure scalability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Influence: Share your thoughts openly and honestly on what would be the best for our customers and the business.
• Innovate: Champion improvements within the team and products, adopting a proactive stance on innovation and process enhancement.
• Support: Benefit from seamless access to the Support team, quick feedback, and direct communication with our customers.

What We Would Like to See

• Experience: Proven record (5+ years) of delivery of multiple scalable, high-volume traffic cloud applications.
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in full-stack JavaScript or TypeScript applications. Knowledge of Effect.js and Express.js is highly beneficial, and experience with using different AI models and tools like Cursor is advantageous.
• Mindset: Product-oriented mindset. Our teams shape the products they own and we expect you to influence product-related decisions.
• Engineering Approach: Truly engineering approach to solving problems. Good theoretical foundations of computer science (e.g. algorithms and computational complexity, OOP).
• Architecture: Good understanding of modern Cloud architectures and practical experience implementing them, alongside a deep architectural understanding of web applications (performance, quality, and security).
• Mentorship: Desire and ability to mentor other team members and shape the team’s culture.
• Language: Command of English at level B2 or higher.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Atlassian Forge applications.
• Good understanding of Jira and/or Jira Service Management.
• Knowing how to play Bang! (we really need a new champion 😄)
