Senior Fullstack Engineer (TypeScript, Node.js and Effect.js) - Appfire

The team primarily focuses on the Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE) and Jira Misc Custom Fields (JMCF) products while regularly embarking on side adventures like helping other teams, experimenting with Slack integration, or exploring AI capabilities. You’ll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle: ideation, design, development, release, and maintenance.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate: Join a self-organizing, cross-functional product team and cooperate closely with other Software Engineers, Product Managers, Team Leaders, and specialists like Product Marketeers or Support Engineers.
• Build & Maintain: Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable applications written mainly in Effect-TS and Node.js.
• Best Practices: Follow and establish the best engineering practices: automated testing, code review, pair programming, and YBIYRI (you built it you run it).
• Cloud Automation: Automate cloud services and configuration management to ensure scalability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Influence: Share your thoughts openly and honestly on what would be the best for our customers and the business.
• Innovate: Champion improvements within the team and products, adopting a proactive stance on innovation and process enhancement.
• Feedback Loop: Benefit from seamless access to the Support team, quick feedback, and direct communication with our customers.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years of proven record delivering multiple scalable, high-volume traffic cloud applications.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in full-stack JavaScript or TypeScript applications. Knowledge of Effect.js and Express.js is highly beneficial; experience with AI models and tools like Cursor is advantageous.
• Mindset: Product-oriented mindset. We expect you to influence product-related decisions and shape the products you own.
• Problem Solving: A truly engineering approach to solving problems with good theoretical foundations of computer science (e.g., algorithms, computational complexity, OOP).
• Architecture: Good understanding of modern Cloud architectures and practical experience implementing them, alongside deep architectural understanding of web applications (performance, quality, security).
• Leadership: Desire and ability to mentor other team members and shape the team’s culture.
• Language: Command of English at B2 level or higher.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Atlassian Forge applications.
• Good understanding of Jira and/or Jira Service Management.
• Knowing how to play Bang!
