About the Role: Senior Sales Engineer - North America

What You’ll Own

• Achieving the technical win on Atlan’s most strategic enterprise deals, in partnership with Account Executives.
• Leading discovery across AI teams building agents, data platform teams, and enterprise architects, often within the same deal.
• Developing solutions that demonstrate real production value, not just in demos, even when standard paths are challenging.
• Hands-on building: creating POCs, demos, prototype agents, and your own tooling. Managers at Atlan often ask, “what did you build this week?”
• Keeping pace with rapid changes in the category, the Agentic Development Lifecycle, and our product week to week.

What Makes You a Match

• 5+ years of experience, including time in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., FDE, SE, Solutions Architect, or founding engineer).
• A practitioner background in areas such as data science, ML, or data engineering, giving you firsthand understanding of our buyers' challenges.
• Recent hands-on experience with LLMs and agents, and a clear understanding of how agents retrieve data and utilize context.
• You are a builder who thrives in front of customers during the sales cycle, rather than solely on long post-sales builds.
• High agency, comfort with ambiguity, and excellent judgment on what is worth building.

Bonus Points

• Founding SE or FDE experience, or time at an early-stage AI or infrastructure startup selling into enterprise.
• Experience with vector databases, retrieval, or semantic layers.
• A career that has spanned different sides, for example, data science at an enterprise followed by a customer-facing role at an AI vendor.
