Accountant - Canonical

About the Role

Canonical is looking for an exceptional Accountant with IFRS experience to join our growing Finance team. As we prepare for a planned IPO, you will play a key role in driving process improvements, ensuring compliance, and supporting our financial reporting standards. This role offers the opportunity to work with a global, distributed team in a founder-led, profitable environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting: Assist in the month-end reporting process to deliver timely and accurate financial information.
• Ledger Management: Take full responsibility for specific ledger processes aligned with your strengths.
• Audit & Compliance: Assist with year-end audit processes, statutory reporting, and monitoring financial compliance.
• IPO Preparation: Support the wider finance team in preparing the business for public market scrutiny.
• Process Improvement: Drive efficiency in financial procedures and establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Professional Development: Actively develop your skills regarding applicable standards and share knowledge with team members.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Certification: Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CPA, etc.).
• Experience: Exceptional academic track record and career performance. Experience at a large public accounting firm or a public multinational corporate accounting department is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with NetSuite or similar enterprise-grade financial systems.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to four times per year for in-person team sprints.
