Accounts Receivable Clerk - Canonical

About the Role

Canonical is seeking a motivated Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our growing global finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, founder-led technology company. You will report directly to the Global Controller and play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ledger Management: Maintain accuracy of A/R ledgers and perform account reconciliations.
• Invoicing: Process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Data Integrity: Manage customer data, validate new accounts, and maintain audit records.
• Credit Control: Implement and comply with company credit control policies to maximize cash collection.
• Month-End Support: Assist with bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Communication: Resolve customer queries and issues effectively and escalate when necessary.
• Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to internal procedures and maintain documentation for audit purposes.

What We Are Looking For

• Exceptional academic achievements in an Accounting or Finance-related subject.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., pivot tables, lookups).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for direct customer interaction.
• Ambition to progress a career in Finance.
• Prior experience using an enterprise-level accounting system.
