
About the Role
Canonical is seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer to support mission-critical industries including Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco. You will act as a trusted advisor, leveraging your deep knowledge of Linux internals to help customers build secure, resilient solutions using Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core.
What You Will Do
- Engage with customers during presales to gather requirements and architect solutions.
- Participate in the delivery of specialized Embedded Linux projects.
- Act as a customer advocate and technical advisor for Canonical’s product portfolio.
- Convey market requirements to internal stakeholders to help refine and develop generic solutions.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience with Linux (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
- Solid background in embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot) or RTOS.
- Proficiency in at least one of: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Professional fluency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings and company events.
