
About the Role
Work across the full Linux stack—from kernel to GUI—to optimise Ubuntu for the latest silicon. This is a fast-paced, problem-solving role where you will deliver solutions across PC and IoT technologies, partnering with major silicon companies to integrate next-generation features and performance enhancements.
What You Will Do
- Design and implement Ubuntu integrations for the latest IoT and server-class hardware.
- Collaborate with partners to deliver an optimised, first-class Ubuntu experience.
- Take a holistic approach to platform integration, including technical planning, testing strategy, and quality metrics.
- Serve as a technical lead on complex customer engagements spanning cloud to edge.
- Assist customers with SDK integration, device OS image builds, and application optimisation for Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
- Experience working with open source communities and licenses.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++.
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team with high self-discipline.
Additional Skills (Bonus)
- Experience with graphics stacks.
- Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST).
- Knowledge of security best practices in IoT or server environments.
- Public speaking or strong communication skills.
- Embedded experience (SoC, BMCs, bootloaders, firmware).
- Familiarity with Docker, OCI containers, or Kubernetes.
