
About the Role
Canonical is hiring for both Enterprise Sales Executives and Alliances Sales Directors across all levels of seniority. This is a general track role for professionals with outstanding revenue-generating experience in the technology industry.
Alliances Sales Directors
Own a book of business focused on go-to-market partners, including hardware vendors, software vendors, solutions integrators, and distributors. You will enable, manage, and grow business opportunities to drive market expansion.
Enterprise Sales Executives
Own relationships with direct customers, maintaining and growing engagements. You will help craft solutions that enable customers to be more efficient and solve complex problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the Linux and cloud software ecosystem and open source selling models.
- Negotiate contracts and commercial business terms.
- Build and expand strategic relationships.
- Own the strategy and development of sales engagements.
- Drive customer awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu.
- Deliver on targets and provide a voice of the partner/customer to internal teams.
- Align and support internal Field teams to identify, support, and transact.
- Lead executive interlocks between partners/customers and Canonical leadership.
- Travel domestically and internationally to drive partnerships in person.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations in the technology sector.
- Experience with Linux and open source software.
- Exceptional academic track record (high school and university).
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative of an alternative path.
- Confidence to exchange feedback and share ideas.
- Commitment to skills development and mentorship.
- Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects.
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
- High level of personal drive, curiosity, and accountability.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events (up to two weeks) and regularly for client meetings.
