About the Role

Canonical is hiring an Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer to help global enterprises adopt Linux and open-source applications. This role is ideal for technically minded individuals who enjoy customer-facing interactions and solving complex problems during the presales cycle. You will work closely with enterprise sales leads to drive the adoption of Ubuntu Pro, OpenStack, Microcloud, and Kubernetes.

What You Will Do

  • Collect customer business requirements and provide expert advice on Ubuntu and open-source solutions.
  • Identify customer challenges and articulate how Ubuntu Pro provides value.
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective and current clients.
  • Liaise with product teams to provide feedback and influence the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve common targets.
  • Travel internationally up to 50% of the time (25% for internal/external events, 25% for customer meetings).

What We Are Looking For

  • Exceptional academic track record (high school and university).
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative of an alternative path.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux (Debian/Ubuntu preferred), virtualization, containers, and networking.
  • Intermediate Python programming skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Business-minded approach with a drive for commercial success.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills in professional English.
  • Ability to travel internationally for company events and customer meetings.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and accountable with a passion for continuous learning.
