Engineering Manager, Browser Run - Cloudflare

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering management role. You will own Browser Run engineering end to end—the people, the roadmap, the reliability, and the product story. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for AI Agents Tooling & Platform and partner closely with Product Management, Developer Relations, and platform teams across Cloudflare.

What You’ll Do

• Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and grow a team of systems engineers through 1:1s, career development, and hiring.
• Roadmap Ownership: Define the Browser Run roadmap, set direction with Product Management, and ensure clear visibility into delivery priorities.
• Operational Excellence: Own the operational health of the service, including browser fleet capacity, session reliability, cold-start latency, and incident management.
• Technical Oversight: Review design documents, challenge architectures, and ensure high standards for automation compatibility (Puppeteer, Playwright, CDP).
• Commercial Mechanics: Manage usage metering, quotas, plan limits, and abuse protection for a billed product.
• External Representation: Represent Browser Run through blog posts, documentation, and conference talks.

About You

• Experience: 2+ years managing engineering teams with a solid track record as a hands-on engineer.
• Technical Depth: Strong grounding in distributed systems, web platform fundamentals (HTTP, JS execution, rendering), and cloud infrastructure.
• Operational Mindset: Experience owning production services, including on-call rotations and capacity planning.
• Communication: Excellent written communication skills; you believe documentation is as much of a deliverable as code.
• Browser Expertise: Familiarity with browser automation (CDP, Puppeteer, Playwright) or browser internals.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to grow engineers and resolve cross-team dependencies.

Bonus Points

• Experience running headless browser infrastructure at scale.
• Experience shipping AI or agent-facing platform primitives (MCP, tool-calling).
• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, or R2.
• Experience taking internal tools to billed external products.
