Engineering Manager, Radar & Insights - Cloudflare

About the Role

Cloudflare is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Radar & Insights team. You will manage a team of approximately eight engineers responsible for Cloudflare’s Internet measurement products, including radar.cloudflare.com and the Cloudflare Speed Test. This role focuses on people management, execution, and engineering quality, requiring a leader who is deeply technically credible.

What You'll Do

• Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and grow a high-performing team of engineers.
• Execution: Establish clear priorities, ensure predictable delivery, and provide the team with context and autonomy.
• Product Impact: Partner with Product Management to shape the roadmap and turn broad opportunities into actionable engineering problems.
• System Reliability: Own the operational health of the team’s systems, including observability, incident response, and data quality.
• Technical Strategy: Review designs, challenge architectural decisions, and guide the team in building scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms.
• Collaboration: Work across Cloudflare to resolve dependencies and drive complex technical decisions to closure.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong technical grounding in distributed systems, data-intensive systems, or Internet infrastructure.
• Experience operating systems where reliability and data quality are critical.
• Ability to communicate complex technical decisions to both engineers and non-engineers.
• Strong product judgment and experience partnering with Product Management.
• Comfort with ambiguity and finding structure in evolving technical landscapes.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with Internet protocols (HTTP, DNS, BGP, routing).
• Experience with large-scale telemetry or Internet-scale datasets.
• Background in building analytics or insights products.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare Radar or Internet measurement research.
